Members of the
Huntington Village Homeowners Association
arrived at the clubhouse in record numbers Thursday night only to be met with
locked doors and no board
in attendance. In numbers seldom seen for the May Board Meeting, the
Huntington Village Homeowners
arriving were armed with questions that would demand answers from this
Board. Among a list of Questions to be asked included:
These Questions and Others, however, would not be answered by this board of directors on this evening.
The HV Board of Directors performed a last minute and impromptu NO-SHOW for the
meeting with zero advance notice to the community!
Apparently The HV Board Members do
not wish to be held accountable
for their actions or maybe their lack of action. It was no secret that hundreds
of members had signed petitions circulated in the neighborhood regarding the
shamefully neglected Huntington Venture Park-Pool-Tennis Courts complex.
Factoid Note:
This meeting will have
been the Third Consecutive Meeting Missed by at least Two Board Members. Our Bylaws call for
removal of any Director missing three consecutive Board Meetings. Any
Bets?
HV Board Balks at Repairing
Our Huntington Venture Facilities!

For
Years, the Huntington Venture Park has been allowed to deteriorate.
Although
the HVCA Board of Directors has overcharged members since
1985 and claims reserves to be 100% funded, at the April
2003 board meeting they emphatically refused to make the repairs so desperately
needed to the Huntington Venture Park, Pool & Tennis Courts.
A revolution is taking place in Huntington Venture Park
Not the noisy kind, but the quiet kind that has demonstrated
recently how HV Homeowners have been able to remove a number of unsavory
elements from our Venture Park and take it back for the children. This
revolution has been so successful that most of the community is unaware it has
taken place.
In an effort to let HV Homeowners know there are those who
care, Houston Police Department Officers met with a group of concerned HV
Residents at our Huntington Venture Park Wednesday April 30. This gathering
demonstrates the readiness of our local HPD to be there when needed.
