How to Get
There
Getting to that perfect herd is a journey. Make the journey more enjoyable through
·
Planning
·
Selection
·
Consistency
Make a plan of the predictable performance traits you
want for your herd. These traits are
passed
on to offspring
through genetics. Look
for consistency in the offspring to help you identify the
dominant performance
traits. Select those dominant
performance genetics that
match your plan.
Begin a breeding program that combines the genetic mixtures
in a coordinated sequence using
selected performance
traits of consistent
performers. Maintain your persistence by continuing to
mix the genetic
combinations until you get the dominant performance traits in all of the
offspring.
Remember, some
combinations work better than others.
The “Process” is simple.
“Implementation” is what makes the difference.

Our Herd
Our Beefmaster
cattle are gentle and handle easily (several follow me up into the trailer.
This makes
loading a breeze
!!!). Calving is easy and regular. Cows breed back quickly. Our Beefmaster calves will
typically weigh in
the 70 pound range when born, and then gain weight quickly from grass and their
mother's milk. Offspring are very fertile, gentle, and early
breeders. Our Beefmaster herd has only
the
best genetics that
are passed along to their offspring. One example in our Performance section
is Pharaoh.
He scored 100% on
his Breeding Soundness Evaluation (BSE).
That fertility is passed to his offspring.
Whether you're
interested in growth and performance, fertility, or the show ring, we can help
you
through the genetics from our Beefmaster herd.

Additional
Info…
With normal amounts of pasture grass and the milk that the female Beefmaster produces, the light birth
weight Beefmaster calves quickly grow into heavy, stocky animals (examples in Performance section).
This results in big dividends to YOU and YOUR ranch. These traits are passed on to offspring !!
Expect key
Beefmaster characteristics in your herd to generate increased profits,
productivity,
longevity,
gentleness, and durability.
Beefmaster Six
Essentials Can Help You.
This breed was
developed on several traits that are important for an animal to possess to
succeed. These
traits are called
the Six Essentials. They include:
Fertility Milking Ability Weight Conformation Hardiness Disposition
As breeders of
Beefmaster cattle, any animal that does not display all six essentials are
removed from the
herd and sent to the
packer. The natural tenderness and
leanness of the Beefmaster breed provide the
packer and consumer
what they've been asking for.
Nolan Ryan launched
a retail line of all-natural fresh beef cuts featuring Beefmaster-sired
cattle. Look for
this line of beef in
your favorite grocery store. If they don't have the line, ask them to get it
for you.
You will be
glad you did !
