We're on the road to Germany in 2006. For some strange reason, the Germans decided on this image for their World Cup.

Oh well. These things have been goofy for some time.

The actual qualification for this tournament doesn't start for some time, but there are other things to look forward to in the near future.

Welcome to The USA World Cup Resource Page. You want it all in one place? Well, here is my attempts to get it all for you.

This page will focus on the Men's tournament. Go here for the 2003 Womens' World Cup Resource . Also see the USA 04 Mens and USA 04 Womens (UC) pages for information on the Athens Olympics efforts.

Considering that right now every since country in the world is in contention for the 2006 World Cup, I am not going to be able to get it ALL for you, but I should have links to those places.

Let's start with the basics. The 2006 World Cup will be hosted by Germany, which between where they ended up in '02 (losing to Brazil in the final) and as hosts puts them squarely in the front as one of the favorites. FIFA intially rewrote the allocations for each conference (giving Oceania a full entry, giving CONCACAF a half spot, and reducing Europe to a straight 14 and South America to only four), but has since stated that they will review and possibly reconsider that decision.

Currently, there is only the FIFA site. It has links to the cities and some general background stuff, a good primer.

Additionally, per that site, the draw for the qualifiers will be on December 5, 2003.

Also, you can go and join Yanks In Germany , a listserve that will serve as an organizational link for those USA fans planning on following our boys in Deutschland. This is the current version of what used to be Yanks in Korea, which served wonderfully as a way for the various Yankees to keep in touch and organized.

For now, there will only be one 2006 team page, for the USA, where I will focus on where the team is in terms of play, etc. Hopefully this includes a big section on Copa America.

Once qualification begins, then I will get to work on making sure you have links here for all of the qualification issues as they unfold.
