Who is this guy putting all this together, you ask? Well, this page is to answer that question. As you have seen, in some ways, I'm your average 30-something white guy. Here is some more information to give you an idea of what makes me tick.
Music is my third love (after Laura -- See The Inferno SC page -- and soccer).
Additionally, I am more than just a soccer fan. I am from Dallas, and have become quite a fan of both the Dallas Stars and Texas Rangers. While I enjoy watching them from time to time, I am not really a Dallas Mavericks fan, and I'll keep my opinions about the Dallas Cowboys to myself (although I find it incredibly funny that the "Soccer Nut" is the one who has won the office pool three of the past six years...! %-)
The Dallas Stars currently are struggling to regain their form from when they won it all. Overall, though, they are one of the strongest teams in the NHL with Mike Modano, Darian Hatcher and Ed Belfour. Check out their official web page here(link to be inserted later).
The Texas Rangers... ouch, what to say? The entrance of Tom Hicks seemed like a good thing, but Carl Everett? And John Rocker? I mean, wow. What can you say? And to top it off, what Johnnie Oates is going through. There official web page is here(link to be inserted later). It has been said that baseball is a game meant to break your heart. Well, the Rangers sure are doing a good job of that.
As far as movies and entertainment, I will openly admit to being a Trekker and a Star Wars fan. I find the new Star Trek series, Enterprise(link to be inserted later) to be interesting, although not as gripping as the original series or TNG.
Movies off the beaten path I recommend are Gattaca, Courage Under Fire, Kevin Smith moveis, American History X, Trainspotting, Rounders (well, I liked it anyway), Out of Sight and Even Cowgirls Get The Blues.
Back to the music, though. If you are into taking the road less traveled, I have a few suggestions.

Live -- a band that has never let me down for their understanding of the need for dynamics in music. So many musicians put a line together, or a rhythm, and they go with it. I feel like my friend Gready when he screams, "Do SOMETHING!" Live has always done something with their music.

Skunk Anansie -- you may have been introduced to their music if you saw the movie, "Strange Days." Very, very powerful music.

Charles Mingus -- one of the most creative jazz bassists and composers to have graced us with his expression of music. Genius does not even begin to describe the man.
As a former bassist, I will openly admit to being a Rush fan (the band, not the overweight commentator). With the recent troubles that Neil Peart has gone through, I am pleasantly surprised that they are working on a new album that should be out in the next six months. Last year, Geddy Lee put out a solo project that I thoroughly enjoyed and recommend, My Favorite Headache(link to be added). There are flavors of middle-age Rush (Farewell to Kings, Hemispheres) and a cohesive direction that I think the band has lacked for the past few albums. Personally, I hope it is a step in the right direction for a band that has amazed me time and again -- but not as often as of late. I hope to add a few Rush links later on.
