About the Author

Marticia Burns McKinney has been fascinated by Elizabethan England since she was ten years old, when she read her first biography of Queen Elizabeth, and sixteenth century England came alive for her.  She majored in English at Emory University and graduated with a B.A. in English and an M.A.T. degree, after which she continued to pursue her interest in 16th century literature and history as a teacher and a writer.  Her research for the writing of Greensleeves took five years and included a bibliography of 143 books.

Mrs. McKinney is the author of a number of published articles, including several on teaching English.  She is also a contributing author of Seasons of a Woman's Heart and Treasures of a Woman's Heart (ed. Lynn D. Morrissey).  She is currently working on a sequel to Greensleeves revolving around the Puritan settlement of America.
