For several years off and on I have had this same dream. It had been awhile since I dreamed this dream until last night and there it was again.

I am in my car driving down the highway, I turn on to a one way street that ends all of a sudden, there are cars behind me as far as I can see and in front of me there is what looks like a loading dock at the back of a building.

When I get out of my car the man in the car behind me also gets out of his and we discuss what we can do to get out of the dilemma we find ourselves in. We cannot turn around because of all the cars behind us and too it is a very narrow street with not much room to do anything but go straight ahead.

I walk to the dock and enter a door to find myself in a hospital. I am on a balcony or mezzanine above the main floor, there are other people there with me. We can see the people on the floor below us, but we can find no way to get off the floor we are on. We see no doors except for the one we came through from the dock outside and we see no elevators, signs or arrows pointing a way off the place.

We all are talking trying to figure how we can get down to the other floor. A lady in the crowd who is quite tall and thin tells us she will get help for us and she steps atop the railing around the edge of the balcony, stretches over grabbing and climbing down a huge tree in a pot on the floor below that has grown as high as the floor that we are on. It takes her awhile but she makes it down the tree and disappears into the crowd never to be seen again.

A man comes along and someone in the crowd yells down to him and asks "How do we get down from here?" The man looks up and tells us to walk to either side and we will find steps there. Sure enough when we walked to the edge on both sides there we saw steps that are not visible unless you are at the edge. They were concrete steps with no handrails or anything visible until you were just above the steps themselves.

Yes, finally! After all these years having that dream and not finding a way off that floor I now know the way to get off. The dream does not end there.

Although I now know where the stairs are I do not go down them. I go back out the door and walk to my car where I find that all the cars except mine are gone. I decide that my car is small enough with some maneuvering I can work it around and get out. It seems to not matter to me that I will be going the wrong way on a one way street I just want to get out of there.

The dream does not end there either.

I then find myself out of my car, what happened to the car...I have no idea and I am walking home. Someone is most usually with me, last night  my daughter  was with me.

A car is coming toward us and I am comfortable with that. But soon after I hear a motorcycle coming up behind us. I think to myself oh, no! Here comes that guy on the motorcycle again. I tell my daughter to just keep walking and ignore him if he stops and tries to talk to us.

I listen to the sound of the motor and can tell he is getting closer and closer to us then the sound goes off to one side. I tell my daughter that he is going in the woods beside us and will probably get off his motorcycle, walk down to the road and be waiting for us up ahead a ways. Sure enough he does just that and as we near him he jumps out of the woods into the road in front of us.

I try to tell him to go away and leave us alone, but I cannot get the words out, the man keeps talking and trying to coax us into the woods, I keep trying to talk and can't so I begin singing to him to leave us alone and go away.

I woke myself up singing and this is the way this dream ends every time. Now that I have found the way down off that floor, but didn't go down the stairs I wonder if I will dream that dream again and if I do how it will turn out the next time.

Why do we dream? Do our dreams have meaning? Why do some seem to dream more often than others?  Why do some dream more vivid dreams than others? I have many questions about dreams.

I have always been curious about dreams and dreaming and I would love to hear your thoughts on the subject, email me and share them with me. Email button at the bottom of the page.

Over the years I have also had many dreams where I was looking for my car and could never find it. Sometimes I would walk for miles, see lots of people I knew and meet others that I would stop and visit with while searching for the car that was never found.

In one dream as I was searching for my car that had disappeared I was walking along the side of a highway, up ahead of me I could see something laying on the ground, but could not make out what it was. The closer I got to the spot where I could see the objects on the ground the more of them I saw.

After walking for sometime still not seeing my car any place I finally was close enough that I could see what was laying on the ground. It was baby pacifiers, they were all over the place in every direction and there seemed to be hundreds of them.

I thought to myself...what are all these pacifiers doing here, they do not belong here. The next thing I knew I had a huge bucket and was collecting the pacifiers and dropping them into the bucket. It seemed though as I picked them up they just kept multiplying on the ground and I was saying to myself "I will never be able to get all these picked up, what will I put them all in? They are multiplying faster than I can pick them up."

When I woke up I was still in the midst of all those pacifiers trying desperately to get them all picked up from the ground and put into the bucket.
