I have never met
anyone like Trina. She was very special and loved by many people.
All children who knew her or that had just crossed her path seemed
to immediately fall in love with her. I will never forget her or
stop loving and missing her.
We had many foster
children and when we went home to visit or to the family reunions we
always had at least one new one, most of the time it was two or
three new ones. Trina who never looked at a child like she didn't
know them would always take each one of them for a walk and would
spend time with each of them all the while encouraging them and
making them feel very special.
I remember one
Christmas we had seven children. Sweet Trina sent each of them a
stocking filled with candy and had a dollar bill taped to the front
of each stocking. All the children were more excited over those
stockings than anything else under the tree.
I stood in awe of
how very hard Trina worked to try and prepare her family for her
death. She spent special time with her precious little boys
explaining things to them and telling them special things. She
fought so hard for so very long to be with her family.
I am so thankful
and feel so honored that she was allowed to be my sister-in-law for
a time. I felt she was part of my life always. Knowing and getting
to be with her was one of the greatest blessings God has ever given
me. I still feel her near and I look forward to the day when I can
see her and give her a great big hug.

This is my Uncle
Harold Dean one of the most special and precious men God ever graced
this earth with. He is, was and will forever be my favorite uncle
and I treasure the memories I have of him.
I could have put a
picture of him all dressed up in a nice suit or even in his army
uniform, but I chose this picture for a reason. Just look at
him...how nice he looks and how well matched his clothes are (he is
at the river). No matter if he was going to work in his carpenter
overalls, church, shopping or hunting his clothes always matched and
he looked very well dressed. I don't know if that is to his credit
or my sweet Aunt Ida Mae's, but I do know he always dressed nice and
looked handsome.
I can remember his
one seated car and riding in it. He would pick up my mother, sister
and I to take us to his house or some other place that we needed to
go. We would all squeeze in that car and take off. One of those
trips was when I got my first taste of GREEN persimmon, he laughed
and laughed at us girls when we bit into one of them and did we ever
pucker up and frown :) I never had any more of the green ones I did
try a few ripe ones though, they were much better although I never
did really like them.
He carried pictures
of my sister and me all through WWII and told me once that he looked
at them every day. I will carry precious memories of him and
remember him forever. I miss him so much and will never stop wanting
to see and hug him again.
Cancer cheated my
uncle and took him from us but it didn't touch my memories and love
for him and I will always hold him very close in my heart until I
can touch and hug him once again.
My sister has made
and dedicated a page to our sweet uncle and there is more
interesting things to read about him there. Please visit by clicking
